The MateBook 16 has a 16-inch IPS LCD touch panel with a 2560×1680 resolution and a peak brightness of 300 nits. The display also supports HDR, covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, and is calibrated to achieve average deltaE = 1.

It features two Shark fin 75mm cooling fans, two thick heat pipes, and a copper alloy heat sink that all work together to keep it cool.

Under the hood, you can choose between the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H and the Ryzen 7 5800H. They have a standard TDP at 35W but pressing Fn+P buttons enables Performance mode which bumps it up to 54W. Both processor options will come with 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD.

The laptop draws power from an 84Wh battery which is said to offer 12.5 hours of local video playback. It comes with a 135W fast charger out of the box and charges via USB-C, meaning you can use it to charge Huawei smartphones.

As far as ports go, the Matebook 16 has two USB-C ports, two USB3.2 Gen1 ports, a full-size HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack. The last of which offers AI noise cancellation that helps muffle ambient noise and prevent echoes during calls.

The laptop offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support. Additionally, the power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

There’s also PC-Smartphone Collaboration that allows you to connect your smartphone to the laptop and run up to three phone apps on the laptop. Additionally, you can use the laptop’s mouse and keyboard to navigate through the apps as well as drag and drop files between the two devices.

You can expand your setup with a tablet or a MateView monitor that can be connected via Wi-Fi or a USB cable. The tablet, in particular, can be used with Collaboration as a secondary screen to either mirror the laptop screen or as an additional display.

The Huawei MateBook 16 will be available soon. The Ryzen 5 5600H variant will be available for EUR 1,100, while the Ryzen 7 5800H option will be priced at EUR 1,200.
