nubia has just unveiled the Red Magic 6S Pro with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset and improved cooling.
The Red Magic 6S Pro is built around a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a 1080×2400 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It has a 100% coverage of DCI-P3, a peak of 700 nits brightness, and supports DC dimming.
What’s more impressive is that the panel has a multi-finger touch sampling rate of 720Hz. This is compared to the 360Hz multi-finger touch rate on the 6 Pro.
The two shoulder triggers are also carried over but the 6S Pro bumps up the touch sampling rate to 450Hz from 400Hz. It also introduces a new trigger at the back of the phone. These can all be customized with Red Magic’s gaming software. Currently, the shoulder buttons work with Fortnite, Genshin Impact, and LoL: Wild Rift natively.
Under the hood, it features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ coupled with 12/16GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage.
To keep it cool, the 6s Pro has the ICE 7.0 cooling system and Phase Change Materials. The latter is sort of a heat battery that stores heat and slowly releases it afterwards. This should help even out the heat spike from heavy use.
Additionally, there’s the active cooling fan that spins at 20,000 rpm like on the 6 Pro. The sound is tempered by a metal cover, which reduces noise by 40%.
The rest of the spec sheet is pretty much the same as the 6 Pro. Among these include the optics meaning it retains the 8MP front sensor and the 64MP main camera at the rear. An 8MP ultra-wide camera and a depth sensor round out the rear camera setup. Moreover, the 6S Pro features the same 5050mAh battery with 66W on the international model and a 4500mAh battery with 120W on the China variant. The phone only ships with a 30W charger though.
Other features include a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.1 support.
The Red Magic 6S Pro is available in Cyborg Black and transparent Ghost colorways. The Cyborg Black option is available in 12/128 GB and 16/256GB for USD 599 and USD 699, respectively. The Ghost colorway, on the other hand, only comes in a 16/256GB memory option and is priced at USD 729.
The new 6S Pro will officially hit shelves in the global market starting September 27.
