Lenovo Announces its Newest Intel and AMD-Based ThinkBook Laptops

Lenovo has just announced its newest AMD and Intel-Based ThinkBook laptops. These join the new ThinkPad X1 laptops and ThinkVision Monitor.

Lenovo ThinkBook 13s Gen 2

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 has up to a 13.3-inch WQXGA IPS panel with 100% sRGB and Dolby Vision.

lenovo-thinkbook-13s-gen-2Under the hood, it has either up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor or an AMD Ryzen 4000U series processor along with 8/16GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM and up to a 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD.

The 13s Gen 2 has also been tuned and tested to be Intel Evo certified proving its strength.

lenovo-thinkbook-13s-gen-2-2It’s said to offer up to 12 hours of usage with its 56Wh battery which supports RapidCharge with 65W Type-C adapter.

The ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 is expected to be available this month starting at USD 829 for the Intel-powered variant and starting at USD 729 for the AMD-powered option.

Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Gen 2

The Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Gen 2, on the other hand, has a larger 15 inch TN/IPS display with Full HD resolution. The IPS display variant comes with TÃœV Rheinland low blue light certification and 100% sRGB.

lenovo-thinkbook-15-gen-2-1What’s more unique to it is that it has a built-in dock for ThinkBook wireless earbuds on the right side of the laptop. These feature dual mics for environmental noise cancellation, which should come in handy for meetings or classes. In addition, the earbuds can be tapped twice to mute or unmute the microphone.

Under the hood, it has up to an 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processor or an AMD Ryzen 4000U series processor. The Intel variant comes up with up to Iris Xe or an NVIDIA MX450 GPU, while the Ryzen variants come with integrated Radeon graphics.

lenovo-thinkbook-15-gen-2-2The 15 Gen 2 can either have two PCIe M.2 slots for storage or a PCIe M.2 slot and a 2.5-inch drive slot for either SATA or HDD.

The ThinkBook 15 Gen 2 is expected to be available this month starting at USD 569 for the Intel variant and starting at USD 549 for the AMD-powered option.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga

Limited Edition Abyss Blue

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga is the only refreshed ThinkBook not to get an AMD-powered variant. Instead, the 14s Yoga has up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with an Intel Xe GPU. It comes with up to 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD but includes a slot for another 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD.

As part of the Yoga series, the 14s Yoga is a 2-in-1 laptop with a 14-inch FHD WVA panel. It features 300nit peak luminance, 100% sRGB color gamut, and Dolby Vision. In addition, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The 14s Yoga also comes with a Smart Pen which can be used for the touchscreen.

Mineral Grey

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga is available in the more classic Mineral Grey and a limited-edition Abyss Blue expected to arrive in November 2020 with a starting price of USD 879.

In addition to the three laptops, the company announced:

  • ThinkBook 15p i with NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti GPU and X-Rite Pantone-certified display. It is expected to arrive this month starting at USD 939.
  • ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 which is the 14-inch option that is expected to available this month. As far as price goes, it starts at USD 569 for the Intel option and USD 549 for the AMD variant.
