Apple has just announced the 3rd iteration of its Smartwatch, which brings a number new features such as cellular capabilities, as well as a new and more capable processing unit.
The Apple Watch Series 3 can now function as a standalone device that allows you to make and receive calls. It also allows you to take a look at directions and maps, and is also fully compatible with a number of 3rd party apps such as WeChat.
With access to Apple Music, you now have 40 million songs playable on your wrist. Siri can now talk, and is also significantly quicker than before. This is all thanks to a new Dual-Core processor which offers up to 70% better performance.
For connectivity, Apple Watch Series 3 is also equipped with a custom W2 wireless chip that provides up to 85% faster Wi-Fi while being 50% more power efficient.
In terms of design, the device’s own display acts as the actual antenna, and the overall size of the case is just the same as with the Series 2.
The Apple Watch Series 3 also comes with WatchOS 4 with smart activity coaching, a newly redesigned workout app, new metrics such as resting and recovery heart rate, and also the capability to show your heartrate on the WatchFace.
The Apple Watch Series 3 will be available in the US starting September 22, and is priced starting at $329 for the non-cellular variant, and $399 for the cellular variant.
