Skullcandy is known for its superb sound quality, sturdy and stretchable headphones and headsets. Although they are not as popular as Beats by Dr. Dre, they managed to develop new and unique headphones for the benefit of the consumers.

If you are looking for the ultimate bass experience, you should read this review and get ready to be amazed because this headphone is perfect for you.

Build

The form of Crusher is typical but stylish. It comes in three colors: Red, Black and White. Luckily, we got the white Crusher for the review. The ear cups are made up of plastic in a shiny finish. The ear pads attached to the ear cups are made of leather-like material which we find very comfortable. Product placement is wisely positioned at the top and sides of the device. A detachable cable is also included in the box and serves as remote control and microphone but not for volume control. Yes, it’s ideal to use this device on iOS devices.

Like other headphones, Crusher is also stretchable and adjustable depending on the size of the head and ears of the user. At the top, you will see a cushion which protects your head into the hard material that has been used on the device.

A unique feature of the Crusher is that you will get to experience bass physically with your head and ears by means of vibration. Yes, you read that right – physical. By physical, we literally mean you can feel the bass reverberating and vibrating on your head. This is a battery-powered vibration driver which is connected with the ear pads. You can regulate the level of bass by its level control on the left ear cup. The experience is impeccable. It is like watching and listening to a bass-concentrated concert.

Audio Quality

As what I have said, Skullcandy offers premium sound quality and durable headphones. Crusher effortlessly exceeded my expectation. Although, only some people would appreciate loud bass, the vibration feature is potentially an amazing experience. More over, if I would score the audio quality of Crusher, I’d rate it as 9 out of 10 because of the balance of the treble and the equilibrium of the sound.

However, if you turn off the vibrating driver, you will just listen to a flat and normal sound quality. The midrange vibration level would be perfect for just mediocre music lovers while the uppermost level is purely bass and it is difficult to listen to strings and percussion due to maximized levels of bass.

Conclusion

4

All in all, the Skullcandy Crusher is one the best headphones that we’ve reviewed. A satin-like pouch is included in the box where you can place the headphones.  It offers superior sound quality and premium bass experience. The sound quality is really comparable to Beats by Dr. Dre but the price of the Crusher is much cheaper. It is priced at Php 5,500 and is now available in all DC stores nationwide.
