MPL PH Season 14 Kicks Off with Exciting Updates

The MPL PH Season 14 is set to start on August 16, 2024, bringing a host of exciting changes and upgrades to the popular esports tournament.

The specifics were discussed during an on-site kickoff press conference held last August 9 at the event’s new home – Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

With the theme “Heroes Within,” this season aims to refocus on the competitive spirit and community engagement that have made MPL PH one of the most prestigious MLBB leagues in the world.

New Team and Returning Stars

One of the most anticipated additions to MPL PH Season 14 is the debut of Serbian esports organization Aurora. Its roster is composed of star players Yue, Edward, Demonkite, Domeng, and Benthings, promising to shake up the competition. Additionally, Filipino imports MP The King and Dlar are making their return to the league after stints in MPL Cambodia and MPL Indonesia, respectively.

As for the participating teams, there are 8 in total for MPL S14 and 12 for MDL S4.

Playoffs Format Update

The tournament introduces a significant change to its playoffs structure. The Lower Bracket Finals will now be a best-of-seven (BO7) series, up from the previous best-of-five format. This adjustment aims to ensure that only the most deserving team advances to the Grand Finals, intensifying the competition in the crucial later stages of the tournament.

Global Open Transfer System

MPL PH Season 14 introduces a groundbreaking global open transfer system. This new rule allows teams to acquire players from MPL or MDL teams, overseas and local, as well as free agents within a pre-determined transfer window. This allows for more dynamic roster movements and also potentially game-changing team compositions throughout the season.

Community Events

The league is doubling down on community engagement with the return of MPL Smart Battle Trips. This initiative invites MLBB communities from cities, schools, and workplaces to experience the tournament live at the arena. In partnership with MLBB Community Heroes and Student Leaders (CHSL), around 40 students and community members from Luzon will be invited to watch matches offline and participate in workshops about opportunities in the esports industry.

Another exciting addition is the MPL Infinix FANSiklaban, a fan-centric mini-league where supporters can represent their favorite teams while contributing to charitable causes.

MPL Philippines Season 11 Playoffs Welcomes Fans to Its Largest Venue Yet

MOONTON Games has announced that the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL Philippines) Season 11 playoffs will be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay, its biggest venue yet.

More than 2,000 daily offline spectators are expected to watch the best MPL Philippines teams battle it out for the championship from May 4-7, 2023.

MPL Philippines Season 11 Playoffs

Six teams secured their playoff spots namely Bren Esports, ECHO, RSG Slate Philippines, Blacklist International, ONIC Philippines, and Smart Omega. They will vie to take home the championship and the lion’s share of the USD 150,000 prize pool.

This season’s champion and first runner-up will represent the Philipines in the international mid-season tournament MSC 2023 that will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

RSG PH Crowned Kings of MPL-PH Season 9

RSG PH reigned supreme at the recently concluded Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 9. The final was held at the SMX Convention Center where the Kingslayers of the MPL-PH Season 9 snatched the crowns against the Kings of SEA, Smart Omega.

RSG-PH took the crown in five games in a thrilling best-of-seven final. It is the first foreign-owned team to win the MPL-PH title.

“In previous seasons we were the king slayers. In Season 9, we are the kings. We’ve done our part here in the Philippines, and for the MSC, our job has just started. I’m proud of this team.”

After an impressive performance in the Playoffs, the team’s Exp-laner Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo was declared the Grand Finals MVP.

Both RSG PH and Smart Omega will represent the country in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022 in June.

The MPL-PH Season 9 is sponsored by Smart as the official telco partner. It also serves as the internet prover for the screening of the playoffs to the championships.

The Battle of the Undefeated Takes Place in Week 2 of MPL-PH Season 9
The first week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 9 was pretty surprising.

Defending champion and World Champion Blacklist International stumbled in their first few matches. Meanwhile, both TNC and ECHO made it out unscathed.

TNC was led by Shemaiah Daniel “SDzyz” Chu who clocked the third-highest recorded total kills (21), most MVPs (3), second-most secured Turtle (10), and most secured Lord (8) in the first week alone. In addition, Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos led the league in damage dealt/gold.

On the other hand, ECHO made the right decisions to explore trades and player scouting to build a superteam. The team is now probably the strongest team ever led by Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Jankurt Russel “KurtTzy” Matira, and Frediemar Alaga “3MarTzy” Serafic.

The two top teams will battle it out in Week 2 and only one will survive with an undefeated record.

MPL-PH Season 9 to Be Played Offline Starting Week 3

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 9 has just gotten the green light from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) to go offline starting the third week of the regular season until the playoffs.

This comes after the board initially gave the approval to have the games played onsite from Week 5 onward.

Strict health and safety protocols will be implemented during the period. This includes having swab tests and keeping the personnel entering the venue at a limited number. Additionally, there will be a roving officer to ensure everyone follows the protocols.

Safety and sanitation kits will be shared with all attendees and potential cases will be isolated.

The venue will be limited to players, casters, and staff for safety purposes. Despite playing the games at the venue, there will be no audience during the games. The MPL-PH Season 9 games will still be livestreamed though on the official MPL-PH official Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube pages.

MPL-PH Season 9 Begins on February 18

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines Season 9 (MPL-PH Season 9) is set to once again look for the best Filipino team in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) starting February 18.

The latest season will comprise of Bren Esports, Echo, Smart Omega, Nexplay EVOS, TNC Pro, RSG Philippines, ONIC PH, and the defending Blacklist International. The eight franchised teams will be battling it out for a USD 150,000 prize pool this season.

Samsung joins as the season’s official device partner, which included brand integration throughout the tournament.

“Season 9 marks a chapter for many teams, and we are excited to bring back our athletes to demonstrate Lakas ng Pinas, as expertly shown in the M3 World Championship. With new players filling in the shoes of our legacy players and with our newest partner, Samsung, we are just as excited as our fans to see how well they perform this season.”

Moreover, the new season brings new rules. The first ranked time this season will determine the placement of the third or fourth-ranked teams to be placed in either the first or second match. Additionally, the same will follow for the subsequent ranked fifth or sixth positioned teams as well.

Teams can now also have as many as three assistant coaches or analysts to support them but only one will help the head coach in the draft phase.

MPL-PH Season 9 will start on February 18 with playoffs starting on April 28 and concluding on May 1, 2022. The games will be played on Friday at 6 PM onwards, Saturday at 4 PM onwards, and Sunday at 4 PM onwards.

As the sponsor of the tournament, Realme seals the Realme 3’s claim of superior budget smartphone performance. The Realme 3 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 processor and is the latest device in the Realme product portfolio.

In the series of weekly tournaments, fans can expect exciting activities and prizes such as smartphones and in-game diamonds. With the regular season starting on March 23, everyone is encouraged to watch the upcoming live stream tournaments and get the chance to win the brand new Realme 3 smartphones, among other prizes.

Realme Philippines encourages amateur and aspiring Mobile Legends players to join in its upcoming community tournament. Open to all members of the Realme Philippines Community Official, the tournament registration begins on March 22 with the qualifiers beginning on April 8 and the finals on May 2019. The Grand winner of the community tournament will win PHP 25,000 and a Realme 3 smartphone.

While the grand winners of the MPL – Philippines Season 3 will be taking home a whopping USD 25,000 or about PHP 1.2 Million. Grand Finals will happen on May 2019 with the venue and date still to be announced.
