Google has just announced that the Android Show I/O Edition 2026 will be held on May 12, 10 AM PT or May 13, 1 AM PHT (GMT+8). This is the second year for the show and is a lead-in to Google I/O 2026, which will take place on May 19.

Google has simply promised that it will reveal why “this is the biggest year for Android yet” at The Android Show I/O Edition. It is speculated that the company will reveal unannounced Android 17 features.
It is also believed that Gemini integration could be among those that will be announced at the pre-Google I/O 2026 show.
The Android Show I/O Edition looks to be a good platform for the company to reveal and highlight Android-specific features ahead of Google I/O, which could be used for its other platforms. This makes it easier for fans to keep track of Android-specific features and could allow Google to share even more details on the latest version of Android.
