GCash has confirmed its systems remain secure, following a comprehensive forensic investigation prompted by alarming reports of alleged user data being sold on the dark web. The company, which serves millions of Filipinos, released a statement on Monday, October 27, 2025, saying that the claims of a data compromise were unsubstantiated.
GCash No Data Breach
GCash’s corporate communications unit stated that its analysis found no evidence of a breach within its platform. The company emphatically stressed that the dataset circulating online did not originate from GCash, with initial findings showing the alleged data does not match the structure used within their systems.
Investigators also noted that the circulating information included individuals who are not users of the said ewallet and contained numerous incomplete, inconsistent, or invalid entries, suggesting the list is fabricated or sourced elsewhere.

The ewallet service emphasized that the integrity of its systems was not compromised, and all customer accounts and funds are secure. The firm is actively coordinating with key government regulators, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), to validate the claims and ensure ongoing system protection.
The company urged its users to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity exclusively through official GCash channels, such as the in-app chatbot “Gigi” or the hotline 2882.
