Petit Planet Arrives December 4, Switch 2 Version Set for 2027

The Petit Planet release date is December 4, 2026. HoYoverse confirmed the date during the Pre-Launch Special Program on November 1, and used the same broadcast to announce that the cozy galactic life sim is headed to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Launch day covers PC, iOS and Android, so players in the Philippines start on the same day as everyone else. Pre-downloads open on December 1.

Petit Planet release date and platforms

On Windows, the game ships through the Epic Games Store and a standalone client. On mobile it arrives through the App Store and Google Play. Petit Planet is free to play, with pre-registration open on all three storefronts and on the official site at planet.hoyoverse.com. HoYoverse has not announced a PlayStation 5 or Xbox version.

The publisher says global pre-registrations have passed 10 million, the milestone tied to the Sproutling Outfit reward. Everyone who pre-registers also receives the Bestie Star-Light.

What you actually do on your own planet

Players take the role of Planet Tenders, travelling into the Starsea on the back of Oumuamua, a Starsea Spirit said to listen to the wishes in people’s hearts. On their own planet they plant a Luca Seed that grows into a Luca Arbor, which gradually shapes the landscape, the seasons and the ecosystem.

Planet Coordinator Mobai and Starsea Racer Elsasani are the first Neighbors to welcome each Tender, with more arriving over time, each carrying their own story. Beyond the home planet, players can sail the Starsea to reach scattered Islets, or drop by the Galactic Bazaar for games, auctions and shared creations.

Switch 2 in 2027, and what arrives at launch

The Switch 2 version arrives in 2027. HoYoverse has not shipped a game on Nintendo hardware before, so this would be a first for the publisher. The Switch version of Genshin Impact announced in 2020 never came out, and no Switch 2 version of that game has been confirmed. The studio says it will show Switch 2 footage and share more details next year.

HoYoverse is also running a Switch 2 giveaway around the announcement. Three winners get a console and Pro Controller bundle, ten get USD 50 gift cards, and entries run through a repost of the announcement post before November 15.

In game, more than 1,000 clothing and furniture items can be earned free through regular play. The “Besties, Made to Match!” event hands an exclusive clothing item to players who pre-register with two friends. The “Launch a Planet” web event opened on November 1, and the first Seasonal Creation Event starts alongside launch, with cash prizes, in-game rewards and merchandise for selected fan creations.

Petit Planet is HoYoverse’s next global launch after Zenless Zone Zero, which went live in July 2024. The publisher will also run a 100-booth presence at G-STAR 2026 in Busan from November 19 to 22, with a hands-on demo ahead of launch.
