Samsung has quietly introduced the “Galaxy Buds On,” its first clip-on wireless earbuds. Moving away from the traditional in-ear design, these earbuds rest around the ear, leaving the ear canal open. This design aims to provide environmental awareness and reduce ear fatigue during extended use.

Samsung optimized speaker and battery placement based on extensive ear-shape data. The earbuds feature an ergonomic design with a larger contact area for even pressure distribution and a band designed for a secure fit.

The Galaxy Buds On feature TwinBoost speakers for enhanced low-frequency performance, automatic volume adjustment based on your surroundings, and Audio Leakage Reduction. Powered by the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform, they boast up to 9.5 hours of playback. They also feature Intelligent Clear Call technology, utilizing three microphones and a bone-conduction sensor to separate the user’s voice from background noise.
When paired with a compatible Galaxy device, the Buds On offer AI integration. Users can launch Gemini Live via voice command, record voice memos with a long press, and use head gestures to manage calls, alarms, and notifications.

The Galaxy Buds On will launch in South Korea on October 27th in black, priced at around USD 220. A global release is expected to follow, though specific dates and pricing have not yet been announced.
