YouTube creator Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, has unveiled Ajax, a fine-tuned AI model designed to run locally with his self-hosted Odysseus workspace. Ajax can browse the web, run private searches, write emails and work with a calendar.Ajax is based on Alibaba’s Qwen3.5-9B model. The model has roughly 9 billion parameters and is tuned for Odysseus workspace.
A smaller model aimed at everyday agent tasks

PewDiePie’s pitch is that a smaller, locally run model can handle everyday assistant jobs without sending every request to a cloud service. PewDiePie’s video showscases Ajax as an always-on assistant for searches, browsing, email, calendar and to-do tasks. Under the hood Ajax is a fine-tuned Qwen3.5-9B model built specifically for the Odysseus environment.
PewDiePie also says he changed Ajax’s refusal behavior using an automated “abliteration” process and the open-source Heretic tool. He says he retained limits around requests to harm oneself or other people, but the outlets covering Ajax say those safeguards have not been independently assessed.
Ajax training resulted in OpenAI account suspensions
The launch video includes PewDiePie’s account of OpenAI suspending his account twice while he was developing Ajax. He shows an email that he says cited activity related to “distillation,” a technique that uses outputs from a larger model to help train a smaller one. PewDiePie says he appealed the first suspension and later used OpenAI’s model to generate seed data for Ajax. The account remains based on PewDiePie’s version and the email shown in his video; the supplied reporting says OpenAI had not publicly given a specific explanation for his account actions.
What is Odysseus?
Odysseus is PewDiePie’s self-hosted AI workspace, also described in the launch video as a harness for running local AI. Odysseus is the software environment around the model: Ajax supplies the language-model capabilities, while Odysseus connects it to tools and tasks such as searching the web, managing email, using a calendar and organizing to-do note PewDiePie says he wants Odysseus to keep processing local and avoid collecting user data automatically.
How to Download PewDiePie’s Ajax AI model?
As of writing, PewDiePie hasn’t made Ajax available yet to the public. PewDiePie stated that he will release Ajax when it’s ready instead of putting a timer. For the meantime, users can check out PewDiePie’s Odysseus self-hosted AI workspace.
