Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is now available, giving one of gaming’s longest-running series both a new lead character and a new chapter. Konami has released the exploration-based 2D action game on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, and the launch lands in the franchise’s 40th anniversary year.

Castlevania – A new Belmont takes up the Vampire Killer

The story unfolds in Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Rose Belmont, the daughter of the Dracula-slaying hero Trevor Belmont, sets out to defeat the monsters that are overrunning the city. She explores the burning streets of Paris and the looming castle while wielding the legendary holy whip known as the Vampire Killer.

Konami developed the game jointly with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, and exploration sits at the heart of the adventure. Players who venture beyond the beaten path are rewarded with hidden secrets, powerful upgrades, and the many mysteries that lurk inside Dracula’s castle. An atmospheric soundtrack composed by Daniel ASADI accompanies the journey from start to finish.

Long-time fans and newcomers alike will find a rich arsenal of weapons and abilities to wield against the forces of darkness. The title was also named a Future Division winner at the Japan Game Awards 2026, an honor reserved for unreleased games that drew the strongest anticipation at Tokyo Game Show.

Castlevania first debuted in 1986, following the Belmont clan and its long quest to vanquish Dracula and his repeated resurrections. The series is known for its side-scrolling platforming, demanding difficulty, and atmospheric visuals, and it marked its 40th anniversary in September. Belmont’s Curse continues that lineage with a heroine drawn from the series’ own bloodline.

What the Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Midnight Edition includes

The Midnight Edition bundles the main game with a Digital Sound and Art Gallery featuring 71 tracks from the title, three bonus in-game items, and alternate costumes for Rose Belmont. The three bonus items are the Trevor Style Costume, the Sypha Style Costume, and an in-game relic called Family’s Grace. The Midnight Edition ships in both digital and physical form.

Players who buy early also receive the Alucard Style Costume as a pre-order bonus. No Philippine pricing or local release details for the game or the Midnight Edition have been announced yet.

More information is available on the official Castlevania page at Konami, and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is out now on every platform it supports.
