Global AI glasses shipments surged 263 percent year over year in H1 2026, and a new Counterpoint Research report puts Rokid at No. 1 in the AR and AI glasses segment with a 41% shipment share.
This repeats a result the same research firm published for the second half of 2025, when it named Rokid the leading waveguide-based AR glasses maker by shipments, which Gadget Pilipinas reported in April.
What the numbers say
Displayless smart glasses still account for most shipments, but AR and AI glasses jumped 449 percent year over year. The No. 1 finish builds on H2 2025, when Counterpoint named Rokid the leading waveguide-based AR glasses OEM by shipments.
Rokid AI Glasses: Why the Brand is Pulling Ahead
Rokid AI Glasses use a waveguide projection system to put information in the wearer’s field of view. Real-time translation, navigation, and teleprompting are built in, and ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and Qwen all run on one device. The first-person camera provides information on what the wearer is seeing, which Rokid says helps people with visual impairments stay aware of their surroundings.
The Rokid AI Glasses weigh 49 grams and wear like regular eyewear, with prescription lenses supported via a snap-on system.
“Consumers want their wearables to do more,” said Zoro Shao, Rokid Group Vice President and Global General Manager, pointing to agentic AI glasses as the next phase of growth.
Global expansion and developer push
Beyond North America and China, Rokid recently entered Germany and France via retail partners and dedicated websites. Its developer community counts 35,000 members, and at IFA Berlin 2026 it announced AIUI Studio, a browser-based platform for building smart glasses apps.
