Samsung‘s newly leaked third-party cases for the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra showcased its new camera design language and the missing autofocus sensor.
Leaked Galaxy S27 Ultra Cases
The most noticeable revelation from these leaked case molds is a departure from Samsung’s signature individual floating camera lenses. Instead, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to feature a unified, revamped rear camera island.
These images confirm a vertical oval housing on the right side. According to the precise cutouts, the top of this section accommodates a telephoto lens, while a smaller circular opening directly beneath it is reserved for the LED flash.
However, this design shows that there is a missing laser autofocus (AF) sensor. Earlier rumors suggested the telephoto lens, LED flash, and Laser AF would all share this oval cutout. Yet, the newest case leaves no visible slot for the AF sensor. Industry experts believe the tech giant may be streamlining the device’s aesthetics by cleverly concealing the AF sensor behind dark-tinted or translucent glass, or integrating it into an existing camera housing.
As more leaks show up ahead of the flagship’s launch, future images will likely confirm whether the autofocus array was redesigned or simply hidden beneath the rear glass panel. Stay tuned for more updates.
