Xiaomi has just unveiled the Redmi 17 4G and Redmi 17 5G in Malaysia. The first members of the Redmi 17 series share pretty identical designs as well as specifications.
Redmi 17 4G and Redmi 17 5G
The two devices are built around 6.9-inch 720p IPS LCD panels with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a punch hole that houses an 8MP front snapper.

Around the back are 50MP main cameras with auxiliary lenses for each device. The camera modules also have programmable RGB lights on the back. The light can be used to show incoming notifications and system status alerts.
They also share a 7500mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Meanwhile, powering the Redmi 17 4G is a MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra chipset and offers LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage, while its 5G sibling has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
The phones also feature IP64 protection, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi 17 4G is offered in Malaysia in Black, Deep Blue, Lotus Purple, and Oak Green color options. It starts at MYR 669 (around PHP 9,900).\

Meanwhile, the Redmi 17 5G comes in Black, Deep Blue, and Vivid Orange colorways. It, on the other hand, starts at MYR 769 (around PHP 11,400).
