UGREEN has been a staple brand for accessories, particularly chargers, power banks, and cables. UGREEN has slowly grown from creating a cheaper alternative to what’s already in the market to a market leader, offering products with unique features that have a competitive price in the market. Today, we have the UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W Charger for review. It’s your typical 100W GaN Fast Charger that has a Smart TFT Display twist, which begs the question if the display is worth the premium purchase.
UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W – Unboxing and First Impressions

UGREEN has improved its packaging game for its products. The new Nexode Pro series features a cleaner packaging design with clearly labeled feature sets, particularly the Nexode Pro 100W’s power distribution and 5-Port support.

The first three USB Type-C ports are for charging your laptops and tablets, as the USB Type-C C1-C3 ports can output up to 20V=5A for a maximum charging wattage of 100W. The USB Type-C C4 port only has a max output of 20V=1.5A 30 watts, while the USB Type-A port only supports up to 15V=2.25A 22.5 watts.

The UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W 5-Port Charger is a relatively large charger compared to the common 100W chargers, measuring 76 x 76 x 32mm. It also weighs on the heavier side at 319.6g. Coming from having an older model of its Type-C 100W charger, the size and weight difference are noticeable, especially if you’re used to the more compact 65W charger.

The larger size is due to the added ports and the Smart TFT Display. The display shows real-time charging information, including which ports are active, their respective charging outputs, and even the total combined power draw of all active ports. Having a built-in screen that shows you the charging power helps you troubleshoot if something feels off, whether it’s the wrong cable or the wrong port. Moreover, it can also help you diagnose if something’s wrong with your device when it’s not getting the correct charging wattage.
Conclusion

The UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W is a handy tool, especially for those with multiple devices. It’s priced a bit higher compared to the usual USB Type-C 100W chargers, but for Php 2,200, you’re getting more ports and a smart TFT Display that gets more useful when you have a variety of devices to charge it with. Unlike the current 100W charges, the Nexode Pro 100W uses the latest GaNInfinity chip for efficient power distribution paired with UGreen’s Thermal Guard temperature management solution for stable and safe charging. With its various ports, compatibility isn’t an issue as it’s backwards compatible with previous PD and QC iterations as well as proprietary technologies like PPS, AFC, FCP, SCP, BC1.2, and Apple 5V2.4A.
The UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W is a decent 1-charger solution for those who have a laptop and a tablet/phone combo in their everyday carry. Perhaps my only gripe is that I would personally require at least 140W or ideally a 200W variant to fit my current device setup, as more modern laptops now support 100W Type-C PD charging. For Php 2,200, though, it’s a no-brainer purchase for those looking for a decent, reliable, and fast 100W GaN charger for their devices without the added stress of cable and port compatibility and potential user errors thanks to its Smart TFT Display.
