Google has just confirmed that it is ready to roll out the first beta build of Android 17 soon.

This confirms that Android 17, codenamed Cinnamon Bun, is already in the works. According to Google, the first beta of the upcoming Android model “builds on top of Android 16 QPR platform release and includes the latest bug fixes and improvements to stability and performance.”
It is notable that the first Beta isn’t listed as a Developer Preview build, which Google has used for early builds of the next major Android version.
That said, though, Google hasn’t mentioned any features of the upcoming major Android update. However, previous leaks and reports mention that Android 17 will come with several new features, a more polished UI, and better gaming capabilities, among others.
Google Pixel devices will be among the first to get to try the first beta. If you’re already on the Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2.1 version, just remain enrolled in the Android Beta Program, and you’ll receive the Android 17 Beta 1 update when it comes out.
It is speculated that the stable build of the upcoming Android version will be released around June 2026.
