DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is now available in the Philippines
DJI has officially launched the Osmo Mobile 8, the latest addition to its line of smartphone gimbals, following last year’s Osmo Mobile 7 and 7P.

The Osmo Mobile series is known for turning ordinary smartphones into powerful filmmaking tools. The new Osmo Mobile 8 builds on its predecessor’s reputation for easy stabilization, introducing several new features while maintaining a compact, travel-friendly design.
Intelligent Tracking Improvements
One standout change for the 2025 release is the new Multi-Functional Tracking Module. This used to be a standard package to the Osmo Mobile 7P. This time, DJI decided to have a single SKU release, which automatically includes the Multi-Functional Tracking Module.

This module enhances tracking performance, allowing users to follow people, pets, and objects with improved accuracy. The module works across all major camera apps, including both the phone’s native camera and third-party apps, making it adaptable for live streaming, vlogging, and casual recording.

The Osmo Mobile 8 includes three main tracking methods: its Multi-Functional Module, DJI Mimo app-based tracking, and Apple DockKit tracking. Each has specific compatibility, with the module offering robust support for native camera tracking and the Apple DockKit enabling direct NFC pairing for seamless control, especially for iPhone users.

Low-Angle Shooting is now easier with the Osmo Mobile 8
DJI highlights several features for low-angle shooting. The newly designed grip offers greater comfort and control when filming near the ground, useful for capturing children, pets, or creative perspectives in city and nature scenes. The Osmo Mobile 8 also debuts a seamless 360° pan rotation feature, activated by a simple joystick motion, enabling dynamic shots in gatherings, outdoor adventures, or active sports.

Additional Upgrades
The new Osmo Mobile generation now also has upgraded built-in extension rod and tripod. This allows for more creative shooting angles and stable placement during solo filming, time-lapses, or group photos. The gimbal’s three-axis stabilization system remains core, delivering smooth video even during movement.
Battery life and charging convenience are also addressed. The Osmo Mobile 8 offers up to 10 hours of runtime, and users can double-click the M button to use the gimbal to recharge their phone—an emergency power bank for outdoor shooting. When using the Multi-Functional Module with intelligent tracking, runtime may decrease, but the option for external power banks adds flexibility for longer sessions.

Integrated audio features also take a step forward, with support for DJI’s Mic Mini and Mic 2 transmitter series. The Osmo Mobile 8 lets you pair up to two wireless microphone transmitters, with a fill light offering eight adjustable brightness levels and color temperatures. These features are controlled through a side wheel for quick adjustment, suited for interviews, vlogs, or recording in changing light conditions.
DJI Mimo App enhances the experience
For ease of use, DJI’s Mimo app can guide users with tutorials and one-tap editing, simplifying content creation even for beginners. The app includes intelligent features such as time-lapses, panorama, and dynamic zoom, with the app instantly recognizing scenes like parties or store visits to recommend camera movements.

Compatibility remains broad, with a magnetic clamp accommodating large-lens Android phones, Apple Watch support for remote operation, and MagSafe accessories for quick detaching. For Android users, improvements include 4K 60fps recording and multi-lens support in the DJI Mimo app.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is now available in the Philippines for PhP7,499. For more information, check out DJI’s official website.
