Leaked specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi 16 smartphone suggest the device could feature a significantly larger battery and a next-generation processor. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the new phone is a major step up from its predecessor.
Xiaomi 16 Rumors
The Xiaomi 16 is expected to sport a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device will be the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (Snapdragon 8 Elite 2) chip, making it among the first phones to use Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC.
In addition, the camera setup is rumored to be a triple 50MP system, including a main Omnivision sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens, complemented by a 32MP front-facing camera.

A standout feature is the rumored 7,000mAh battery, a substantial increase from the Xiaomi 15’s 5,400mAh battery. The phone is also said to support fast charging with 100W wired and 50W wireless capabilities. Other features include HyperOS 3, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and an IP68/69 rating for enhanced durability.
While Xiaomi has not confirmed the details, blind pre-reservations have already begun in China. The phone is anticipated to launch soon after Qualcomm’s Snapdragon announcement on September 22.
