Samsung has just introduced the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Series comprised of the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic. These build on the foundation of the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s cushion design.
The new Galaxy Watches were unveiled during the recently held Galaxy Unpacked and debuted along with the thin Galaxy Z Fold7, the Galaxy Z Flip7, and the new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE.
Samsung Galaxy Watch S8 Series
The Samsung Galaxy Watch S8 series delivers comfort along with industry-leading performance. The duo shares the distinctive cushion design, which debuted on the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The Galaxy Watch S8 has the thinnest design yet, thanks to a reengineered component mounting capacity that is improved by 30%. This, combined with the Dynamic Lug system, provides greater comfort and improved stability for enhanced health-tracking accuracy.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 series comes with new, unique health features on the Samsung Health app. This includes Bedtime Guidance that can measure your circadian rhythm, Vascular Load that helps monitor stress levels, and more.
The new watches also introduce Antioxidant Index, which enables you to measure carotenoid levels in just five seconds. Moreover, they feature a Running Coach that calculates your fitness from 1 to 10 and develops a tailored training plan.
The Galaxy Watch8 boasts a 480×480 Super AMOLED panel and a 435mAh battery on the 44mm model, and a 438×438 Super AMOLED display and a 325mAh battery on the smaller 40mm variant. Under the hood is an Exynos W1000 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic features a 1.34-inch 438×438 Super AMOLED display on the lone 46mm. It comes equipped with a 445mAh battery, 2GB RAM, and 64GB storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 series runs on Wear OS 6 and One UI 8 Watch out of the box and comes with Gemini. This allows you to use natural voice commands for apps like Samsung Health, Calendar, Reminder, and Clock.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 series is available for pre-order in select markets until July 31, and will be officially available starting August 1.
The Galaxy Watch8 is available in 44mm or 40mm sizes and arrives in Graphite or Silver. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch S8 Classic measures 46mm and is offered in Black and White.
Samsung also announced that the Galaxy Watch Ultra now comes in the new Titanium Blue color.
