At the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025 (WWDC 2025), Apple presented its latest operating systems, like the macOS Tahoe 26, and their features. The latest macOS makes Macs smarter thanks to Apple Intelligence and helps improve productivity.
The company also introduced iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and visionOS 26. All of which, like the latest macOS is built with the new Liquid Glass material.
macOS Tahoe 26
The new Liquid Glass material makes macOS feel more expressive and personal, while staying familiar. It includes a transparent menu bar and Control Center.
It also unlocks more personalization on the Mac. App icons now get more lively in light or dark appearances and also have colorful new light and dark tints. Moreover, you can now change the colors of folders and add a symbol or emoji for even easier navigation.
Continuity brings the Phone app, which lets you take and make calls on your iPhone from your Mac. Of course, this means you get to enjoy the latest features like Call screening and Hold Assist on your Mac. You can also keep track of your iPhone’s Live Activity on the menu bar.
Spotlight on Spotlight
Apple has also expanded Spotlight, which makes it easier to look for things. When searching, you can see all results like files, folders, events, apps, messages, and more, ranked intelligently based on relevance. New filtering options also rapidly narrow searches to exactly what you’re looking for.
macOS Tahoe 26 will also let you take actions via Spotlight, like send an email, create a note, or play a podcast without switching apps.
Additionally, you can set up shortcuts and perform actions from the menu bar in the app. Spotlight introduces quick keys, a short string of characters to get the right action you’re looking for.

The new macOS version also brings Apple Intelligence capabilities like:

- Genmoji and Image Playground
- Reminders by Apple Intelligence

macOS Tahoe 26 is now available for the Apple Developer Program. It will go through the Beta Program next month and will be rolled out this fall.
