This groundbreaking initiative aims to explore the potential of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to enhance efficiency and speed in delivering time-sensitive items within congested urban environments, effectively bypassing traffic.

The pilot program will implement a hybrid delivery model. Grab delivery partners will manage the crucial first and last-mile segments, handling pick-ups and drop-offs from designated drone landing stations. Drones will then take over the middle leg of the journey, transporting packages between two Megaworld properties in Metro Manila.

This strategic partnership is underscored by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to assess the viability of drone technology for commercial deliveries thoroughly. The collaboration will also focus on gathering key learnings from the pilot and raising public awareness about the benefits and future applications of drone-enabled services in the Philippines.

This marks a pivotal moment in the nation’s journey towards integrating advanced technology into its logistics infrastructure.
