Apple has just introduced the updated iPad Air powered by the M3 chip and built for Apple Intelligence. The new iPad is said to offer up to 2x faster than its M1-powered sibling and up to 3.5x faster those powered by the A14 Bionic chip.
iPad Air with M3
iPad Air with M3 comes in two sizes – 11-inch and 13-inch both with Liquid Retina display. The smaller 11-inch variant features a 2360×1640 resolution, while the 13-inch variant has a 2732×2040 resolution. Both variants have an anti-reflective coating, True Tone, and up to 600 nits on the 13-inch model.
The M3 chip offers a faster Neural Engine compared to the M1 with up to 60% faster AI-based workloads.
It is also built for Apple Intelligence meaning you get to enjoy features like the Clean Up tool in Photos and the Image Wand in the Notes app. Moreover, you can create the perfect emoji with Genmoji, dynamic writing with Writing tools, and ChatGPT integration into Writing Tools and Siri.
The new iPad Air also has a 12MP Center Stage camera on the front and a 12MP camera around the back. The latter supports the capture of shooting up to 4K videos. Additionally, it features dual mics and landscape stereo speakers.
Along with the new iPad comes an all-new Magic Keyboard with a larger built-in trackpad and a 14-key function row. It attaches magnetically and the Smart Connector immediately connects power and data without needing Bluetooth.
Out of the box, the latest iPad runs on iPadOS 18.
