YouTube Music has seemingly begun the rollout of “Ask Music”, its own take on an AI-powered radio feature. This was reported by 9to5Google who got an “Introducing Ask Music” notification.
YouTube Music – Ask Music
The feature is “included with your YouTube Premium membership” and appears on your Home feed as a purple card.
Tapping the card opens a Gemini-like AI chat screen with several prompts for you to choose from. The prompts span from words and phrases like Harmonies, Melancholy indie, and 00s indie rock, to “Surprise me!”.
The AI will then generate a playlist based on your chosen prompt. It will then give a title to the playlist based on your prompt and a brief description.
According to 9to5Google, it then auto-plays the first track and you can also save it to your library and more importantly provide feedback. The latter, we assume, is for better learning of the AI.
The feature has been made available in the US, Canada, and Australia solely on Android devices. The new Ask Music feature is expected to be offered in more markets, including iOS, in the following months.

That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
