The Google Pixel 9 Series will launch on August 22 which includes the Pixel 9 vanilla and the Pro XL model with the 9 Pro arriving on September 4 and the 9 Pro Fold this September 5.

First on the list of Pixel 9 series of devices is the Google Pixel 9 vanilla model which features a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz FHD+ panel, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a higher peak brightness at 2,700 nits. It’s slightly larger than last year’s model but still fits in the smaller Android phone category.

Moreover, it features a classic dual-camera setup. It comes with a 50MP main camera and a 48MP ultrawide lens. Additionally, the 10.5MP front selfie camera has a punch-hole design and an autofocus feature.

The Pixel 9 is powered by a Tensor G4 processor, a Mali-G715 GPU, and 12GB RAM. Like its predecessors, Google will support the Pixel 9 series of phones for 7 years with software updates, OS, and security patches. 

Moreover, the phone has a 45W USB-PD charger and a slightly higher battery capacity of 4,700mAh and it will be among the first to receive Android 15 soon.

The device comes in four colors namely – Porcelain, Peony, Wintergreen, and Obsidian. It features an aluminum mid-frame with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back. It is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. Pre-orders are available in the US and Europe and will ship on August 22.

Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL

Next in the Pixel 9 series in the Pro and Pro XL models. The Pixel 9 Pro, features a 6.3-inch display and is the successor to its previous flagship while the Pixel 9 Pro XL comes with a 6.8-inch display. Both devices also come with a high-brightness Super Actua LTPO unit with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and resolutions of 1280 x 2856p and 1344 x 2992p respectively.

Both Pro models switched from optical fingerprint scanners to ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, claiming 50% faster speed and more reliability, eliminating the need for bright light bursts. They feature flat sides, glossy metal frames, and identical triple camera setups, with the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL contrasting matte rear panels.

Additionally, both pro variants feature 50MP main cameras, 48MP 1/2.55″ rear cameras, Multi-zone LDAF, and a 42MP selfie camera on the front.

Both pro models use the same Tensor G4 4nm chipset as the vanilla phone with 1x Cortex-X4 prime core, Titan M2 security co-processor, 16GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 1TB storage. The Tensor G4 features an Exynos 5400 modem for improved efficiency.

In addition, The Pixel 9 Pro features a 4,700mAh battery while the Pixel 9 Pro XL has a beefier 5,060mAh with both phones supporting 45W wired charging with 70% charge taking 30 minutes.

To wrap up the specs, the 9 Pro and Pro XL come in four colors – Obsidian, Hazel, Rose Quartz, and Porcelain. The Pixel 9 Pro XL will be available on August 22 alongside the vanilla model while the Pixel 9 Pro will be available in the US and Europe on September 4 and 9, respectively, with free Gemini Advanced and 2TB cloud storage.
