OPPO is gearing up to launch its much-awaited Reno12 series in China on May 23. Ahead of the official unveiling, the company has shared a teaser image that gives us the best look at the devices’ rear design.

The teaser reveals that the Reno12 series will feature a glossy finish with a unique back panel housing the OPPO logo at the bottom and a triple camera setup tucked in a rectangular island at the top left corner. The camera island has an “AI camera system” engraved on it. The Reno12 series will come in two color options: Silver and Purple.

While the teaser doesn’t reveal much about the specifications, previous leaks have given us a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming Reno12 series.

The lineup is expected to consist of at least two models: the OPPO Reno12 and the OPPO Reno12 Pro. Both devices are rumored to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels.

Under the hood, the Reno12 is tipped to be the first smartphone to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 chipset, while the Reno12 Pro is expected to run the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Star Speed Edition. The devices are likely to have up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, the Reno12 series is expected to feature a triple-camera setup, including a 50MP primary Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 2x telephoto shooter. For selfies and video calls, there could be a 50MP front-facing camera.

Other rumored features include a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port. The Reno12 series is also expected to run Android 14 with ColorOS 14 out of the box.

After its launch in China, the OPPO Reno12 series is expected to make their way to other markets as well in the coming months.
