Behind Smart’s Top Speeds

Smart has been able to sustain its lead in mobile internet speeds thanks to the continuous network expansion and improvements by its parent company PLDT.

As the country’s largest integrated telco, PLDT’s fiber infrastructure provides the backbone for Smart’s mobile network. PLDT’s fiber network reached over 1.1 million kilometers nationwide as of end-September 2023.

Moving forward, Smart is boosting its 5G deployment and coverage to bring even faster speeds and lower latency. Smart fired up 5G sites across Metro Manila as well as major urban and key tourist destinations nationwide.

As Ookla’s latest report shows, Smart continues to be ahead in delivering the best mobile internet experience to Filipinos. With its parent PLDT, Smart is committed to improving mobile speeds and coverage to support more Filipino homes and businesses.
