For a quick refresher, Red Alert 2 was released in 2000, with an expansion pack called Yuri’s Revenge. It shares the core design with Red Alert but features a lighter visual style, professional actors, and new units.Â
The story follows the Soviet Union’s invasion of the United States, following a time travel mission to remove Adolf Hitler.
How to play
Red Alert 2 can be played free on your browser through ChronoDivide, a non-profit fan project without Electronic Arts affiliation. This method is for multiplayer only and requires downloading original game assets and loading the necessary resources.
To join a game, click Custom Match, create an account, choose a server, and join or create a game.
Furthermore, you need to pick your preferred faction in a game, such as the Allies or Soviets. You can customize settings like game speed, starting credits, unit count, super weapons, game type, and battlefield map if you are hosting the match.
If you want to get the game officially, it is available with the Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection which includes 10 games and 7 expansion packs for PHP 599. The Ultimate Collection, of course, includes Red Alert 2 and its expansion, Yuri’s Revenge. Another option is subscribing to EA Play for PHP 250 per month, which is EA’s version of the Xbox PC Game Pass.
