DICT – Project: SIM Check Mo

The SIM check is pretty simple and is said to only last 10 seconds. Once launched, you’ll need to send SIM CHECK (space) 11-digit number and send it to 1236. You will then receive details in 10 seconds with the status of the SIM – if it is registered, the initials of the SIM owner (if registered), and whether the SIM has a good or derogatory record.

The project, according to DICT Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center Executive Director Alexander Ramos mentioned that the project must be launched soon while waiting for the 90-day extension period of the SIM registration to expire.

The 90-day extension period is a very long and dangerous time that can be taken advantage of by scammers to continue all sorts of scheming to swindle unsuspecting individuals,” he mentions.
