Qualcomm Unveiled the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC

Qualcomm has just introduced two new chipsets – the midrange Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (S6G1) and the entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 (S4G1). The former is built on the 4nm manufacturing process while the latter was built on the 6nm process.

As of now, Qualcomm has not shared the full details of both SoCs. However, Qualcomm divulged enough specs for us to delve into.

Firstly, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 main cores can go up to 2.2GHz while the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1’s can reach 2.0GHz with both boasting 8-cores(Adreno GPUs are still unspecified).

The manufacturer said that the S6G1 has a 35% increase in graphics performance as well as a 40% improvement in computational prowess although no references were provided yet.

On the other hand, the S4G1 is said to offer a 15% CPU performance improvement and a 10% more GPU performance assuming the comparison was with the Snapdragon 480/480+ chipset.

Additional specs of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 4 gen 1 are as follows:

Finally, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 will soon come with iQOO’s upcoming Z6 Lite phone and will be available globally by the end of Q3 this year. No information on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 debut has been shared by the manufacturer yet.
