Android 13 Now Official with Updates to Material You and Support for Spatial Audio and More

Google has just unveiled Android 13 today with updates available for supports Pixel devices today. The latest Android version will be rolled out to devices from Samsung, ASUS, HMD Global, iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Sharp, Sony, TECNO, vivo, Xiaomi, and more.

Android 13 launch - Material You

Android 13 updates the Material You theme engine introduced in Android 12 but now supports icons of third-party apps. Additionally, the updated media player now automatically changes its appearance based on what you’re listening to.

Customization is also improved giving you the ability to set specific languages to specific apps along with Bedtime mode receiving wallpaper dimming and a dark theme.

Clipboard history also gets automatically cleared after a period of time. This should help when you copy data like email address, phone number, or login credentials on your device.

The new Android version also introduces Spatial Audio and supports Bluetooth LE but you’ll need to have the equipment that supports the technology.

On tablets, the taskbar is updated to let you see all your apps at a glance. You’re also able to drag and drop any app in your library into split-screen mode. Moreover, tablets get palm rejection support when used with a stylus to avoid accidental touches.

Other features include HDR video support on third-party camera apps, a new media output switcher, and braille displays for Talkback.
