realme has achieved another milestone, becoming the top 6 vendor in global rankings, according to the latest market insights by Counterpoint Research. The brand took the sixth spot with an impressive 15 million shipments and 135.1% YoY growth for Q2 2021. As a notable industry disruptor, the young brand has achieved this feat in just three years.
Having started from a nondescript brand, realme has surpassed all industry and customer expectations, expanding to over 61 markets worldwide and ranking as a Top 5 brand in over 18 of these markets. In the Philippines, the brand took the top spot for Q1 and Q2 2021 according to multiple global research firms. Last month, realme also became the fastest brand to ship a hundred million smartphones, based on data reported by research firm Strategy Analytics for Q2 2021.
Echoing its “Dare to Leap” spirit, realme has taken bold moves in its business strategy which includes globalization right from the start, closely listening to consumer feedback, and integrating advanced technologies in its beautifully designed and user-friendly products.
realme phones were the first in the segment to have a pop-up camera, the first Android ecosystem to have magnetic wireless charging tech, and one of the first to use a 108MP camera. These trendsetting innovations offered for accessible price points have appealed to a young and tech-savvy audience who quickly became passionate supporters of the brand.
realme’s next goal is to achieve a dual-100 million target – shipping another 100 million handsets by the end of 2022 as well as completing the same milestone within the 2023 calendar year. As for product strategy, realme will streamline its multiple product lines and optimize its technological offerings.
In the Philippines, the brand is set to disrupt the local industry once again with the upcoming launch of the realme GT Master Edition and its first ever laptop, realme Book. The launch is set for September 23, 2021, 6PM via realme Philippines’ Facebook Page and YouTube channel.
