In an impressively entertaining turn of events, OnePlus announced a 50% off sale for OnePlus 9 instead of what was thought to be the company’s first foldable device.

The company initially teased what looked like a foldable device with an announcement set for the same time as the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. The device looked like an improved version of the LG G8X where you have to separate screens rather than the more typical foldable device you expect today. It was expected to be a concept device

However, as the event time came closer, we were greeted by a tweet from OnePlus USA that simply announced a 50% off promo for the OnePlus 9. The silhouette was actually revealed to be comprised of two devices.
Half off. Literally.

We’d like to guess that the sale is exclusive in the US. However, it doesn’t change the fact that its approach was actually pretty funny, especially with the hype around the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.
