Smart Tokyo Olympics 2020 - 1

Smart is bringing a world of sports and action straight to Filipinos 24/7 as an official broadcaster of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, happening from July 23 to August 11.

Smart subscribers can watch all things Olympics via gigafest.smart, with its comprehensive streaming coverage including the Olympics Pay-Per-View (PPV) channel, the pop-up channel, news channel, and seven ready-to-air channels from the Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS).

To access the service, subscribers simply have to turn on the Smart mobile data and go to gigafest.smart on a mobile browser to watch the live events, replays, highlights, athletes’ features, and daily news throughout the entire Olympics run.

Smart will also provide 5G technology and 5G roaming to the coverage teams of TV5, Cignal, and officials joining this much-anticipated event, that mirrors the triumph of human spirit against the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.

A total of 18 Filipino athletes will be representing the country across a variety of sports. These include 2019 World Champion Carlos Yulo (Gymnastics), Gold Medalist EJ Obiena (Pole Vault), 2021 PGA Champion and Top 10 World Ranker Yuka Saso (Golf), No. 2 Virtually Ranked Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, 2019 Boxing World Champion Nesthy Petecio, and top boxers Carlo Paalam, Eumir Marcial, and Irish Magno.

Completing Team Philippines’ roster are: Elreen Ando (Weightlifting), Kurt Barbosa (Taekwondo), Margielyn Didal (Skateboarding), Luke Gebbie (Swimming), Kristina Pagunsan (Golf), Remedy Rule (Swimming), Jayson Valdez (Shooing), and Kiyomi Watanabe (Judo).
