Redmi has just released the Redmi Note 8 2021, the refreshed version of the Redmi Note 8 launched in 2019. The original Redmi Note 8 surpassed 25 million units sold around the world, making it one of the most successful Redmi Note devices.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 has a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset at the helm coupled with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. It also has a splash-resistant nano-coating and runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top out of the box. However, it now only shoots 1080p30 video with the 48MP main camera down from the original 4K at 30 fps video support.
The rest of the spec sheet is the same as the original device though. Some of these include a 6.3-inch 1080×2340 LCD pane with Gorilla Glass 5, 48MP quad rear camera, 13MP front shooter, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 4000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 is available in Neptune Blue, Moonlight White, and Space Black colorways, this is down from the five options of the 2019 device.
The price and availability for the refreshed Redmi Note 8 has yet to be announced though.
