Apple recently announced the 2020 27-inch iMac, powered by the latest Intel Processors, Retina 5K display, more SSDs, and improved webcam.
Under the hood, the 2020 27-inch iMac gets the latest 10th-generation Intel processors with Turbo Boost speeds reaching 5.0GHz. The 2020 iMac also gets up to 128GB RAM and up to 8TB SSD storage. In comparison, this is four times as much SSD storage than its 2019 predecessor.
It also packs an AMD Radeon Pro 5000 series GPU that offers even more power in the graphics department of up to 16GB VRAM. The GPU features AMD’s latest RDNA architecture.
The new iMac also gets an even better Retina display which is now at 5K resolution and features True Tone technology which automatically adjusts the color temperature of the display to match a user’s ambient lighting. The updated version also has a nano-texture glass option for better viewing.
Another new addition to the 2020 27-inch iMac is Apple’s T2 Security Chip which is the company’s custom-designed, second-generation chip. It provides on-the-fly data encryption for everything on the SSD. The chip also has an Image Signal Processor that brings tone mapping, exposure control, and face detection that goes hand in hand with the new 1080p FaceTime HD camera. In addition, the T2 Security Chip works with the speakers to enable variable EQ which combined with the new studio-quality microphone offers improved overall audio experience.
The 2020 27-inch iMac starts at USD 1,799 available now on apple.com or in the Apple Store app.
