The coronavirus outbreak led to many events being canceled or postponed despite the organizers’ safety measures to sanitize and disinfect their venues. Mobile World Congress, NVIDIA GDC, and E3 are one of the most significant events in the industry that were canceled because of the outbreak. But as the outbreak grows with WHO officially declaring it a pandemic, Computex 2020 is the latest event to suffer the effects of the virus.

With no actual date on when Taiwan will open its borders again, enthusiasts and the media are speculating on whether or not Computex 2020 would push through, given that there are still three months left before the trade show.

Unfortunately, TAITRA decided to postpone Computex 2020 at a later date considering the COVID-19 pandemic. Computex 2020’s original schedule is on June 2-6, 2020, following its yearly tradition. And for the first time, Computex will be on September 28-30, 2020, and the trade show days are reduced to three instead of five. The venues remain the same but InnoVEX for startups will also be held simultaneously.

🔍Over the past couple of months, TAITRA has been monitoring the outbreak of Coronavirus very carefully. Unfortunately, the darkness just continued to cast over the world, and news has been heartbreaking lately. In order to contain the evolving development of the Coronavirus, governments around the globe are placing travel restrictions, making it difficult for exhibitors and international visitors to attend #COMPUTEX.

After careful consideration, we decided to reschedule COMPUTEX 2020 to September 28-30, 2020 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 (TaiNEX 2). We hope by announcing the new date, our participants can make travel plans effectively because we know a lot has been invested in this event.

Our hearts and sympathy are with those who are affected around the world. In the meantime, we have to stay strong and fight on!

Depending on the situation of the pandemic, Brands will either have to announce their products online in June or will have to postpone their launches until Computex 2020 this September.
