August was a relatively tame month in terms of games but that doesn’t mean it didn’t have it’s share of must play games like Astral Chain and Control. As September comes, so too does the start of the barrage of games that will continue until the end of the year. There’s a lot, but we’ll help you clear out the clutter as we choose our top 5 games to play for September!

 

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered (PS4, Xbox, Switch – September 3)

He’s still the most good looking guy in the room and with this remaster, Square made sure that there wouldn’t be any more memes to be made of Squall. Releasing digitally (no physical release), make sure to access the respective online store for your console of choice as this classic masterpiece makes its way into our hearts once again.

Borderlands 3 (PS4, Xbox – September 13)

After 7 years, it’s time to head back to the Borderlands as the definitive looter shooter that started it all is making its comeback! With new and returning characters along with a massive amount of loot to be had, you and your buddies will surely have their hands and backpacks full!

 

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (PS4, Xbox – September 6)

Ready to spend another 500 hours? Capcom knows you are so get your weapons and gear ready as Iceborne beckons! New monsters abound, even some returning favorites such as Nargacuga and Zinogre, so make it a date with your hunting buddies, the cold is coming!

 

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Switch – September 20)

Arguably one of the best Zelda games is making it’s return as a Switch exclusive. First released on the Game Boy back in 1993, time has been good to the game and Switch owners have a lot to be excited about as Link gets a full on makeover in this title that is sure to be another masterpiece in the Legend of Zelda series.

 

Gears 5 (Xbox – September 6)

After a long wait, Xbox fans can get excited once again as one of their flagship exclusives makes a triumphant return. With an open world and classic Gears gameplay, you can’t go wrong with some hardcore shooter action that only the Gears franchise can offer.
