AirAsia revamps website and mobile app, includes AI chatbot

airasia revampAirAsia unveiled a revamp for their website and mobile app. This featured a chatbot named AVA (AirAsia Virtual Allstar) powered by artificial intelligence.

The updates are designed to deliver a more seamless and more user-friendly experience to and the app’s users. This includes flight bookings, browsing for deals, online shopping, and customer support.

AVA, the AI chatbot, is available on the new live chat feature to respond to guest inquiries instantly. The AI chatbot currently speaks eight languages namely English, Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

The new homepage offers easier and faster navigation. It also features upcoming flight notice, search shortcut, recent searches, recommended destinations, links to the best hotels, travel, duty-free shopping, and activity deals, and links to AirAsia’s money app, Big Pay.

Among the added features benefits iOS users as they can now choose where to go using an interactive map that pinpoints all AirAsia’s destinations in a single page. They can also check upcoming flight status by asking Siri by clicking “Add to Siri” button under Flight Itinerary or My Bookings.

They’ve also added a means to clear security and board the flight seamlessly on the mobile app by adding a Fast Airport Clearance Experience System or FACES. FACES can be found under My Account to take a 5-second video of their face.

Searching lowest fares have also been integrated in the app via the Low Fare Calendar.

Lastly, AirAsia mobile app users enjoy 19% off booking made via the app from January 28 to February 3, 2019, for travel between August 1 and November 2019 by entering the promo code MOBILE19.
