Netflix, a pioneer of online streaming and LG, a global electronics giant, have once again strengthened their partnership for an exclusive advanced screening last January 24. This time, it’s for the worldwide premiere of the newest original Korean series – Kingdom.
If you’re tired of the usual modern-day zombie apocalypse theme, perhaps this show will lighten things up – a thrilling drama about ancient Korean monarchy plus, zombies! yes, you’ve read that right!
Set in Korea’s Joseon period, “Kingdom” follows the journey of a crown prince sent on a suicide mission to investigate a plague that’s spreading inside the kingdom – only to encounter zombies threatening his reign and his people.
Over a hundred media attendees watched the advanced screening, held at the Korean Cultural Center in BGC, and what better way to watch a thrilling series, than on a TV that can bring out the finest details and vivid colors, the LG B8 4K OLED TV.
LG also shared this milestone with with its brand ambassadors – the ‘Iron Man’ of the PBA LA Tenorio, actor Gil Cuerva, Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Nicole Cordoves, and Lifestyle, Travel Vlogger Dani Barreto. The event was hosted by TV Host, car and road safety advocate, and LG TV Ambassador, James Deakin.
Guests were treated to a traditional Korean dance performance by the Nara Team, and a sumptuous traditional Korean feast dinner, all amidst a number of roaming zombies who really did their part well, I might say.
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the friendship between the Philippines and South Korea, which started when the former became the fifth country to recognize the Republic of Korea in 1949. Since then, the mutual relationship formed between the two countries has grown in every aspect.
As a way of honoring this thriving relationship, and to strengthen the KCC’s mission, which is to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Korean culture among Filipinos by providing diverse cultural programs and events, LG Philippines, has donated five 55-inch UHD 4K TVs (four 55UK6300 and one 55UK6500) to the KCC in the Philippines.
“It is an important celebration of the strong relationship between Korea and the Philippines, which started in 1949. To honor this friendship, we at LG always go beyond the call of duty to provide excellent home entertainment products and appliances to millions of Filipinos who have supported us from the beginning. It is our pleasure to contribute in strengthening the bond between our two countries.”
