Apart from the Alpha 1 Pro, UBTECH Robotics, a leader in AI and humanoid robotics also introduced the STEM-Friendly Jimu robots for kids and teens.
The Jimu Robot is an interactive building block system that lets kids use their imagination in creating their own design. They can also program the robot’s movements with the Jimu App to make it move however they like. Best of all, they can even share their creations with an online community.
UBTECH’s available line of Jimu Robot Kits in the Philippines include:
- Astrobot Kit (PhP14,995) – Comes with 3 pre-designed characters: AstroBot, Rover and Astron. Also includes 5 servos, 1 sensor, 1 speaker, and 2 LEDs.
- Buzzbot and MuttBot Kit (PhP13,995) – Has everything you’ll need to build the BuzzBot or MuttBot robots. This includes 6 servo motors and 260 snap-together interlocking parts and connectors.
- Tankbot Kit (PhP9,995) – A great introduction to STEM learning, the kit has all that you’ll need to build TankBot, or even your own robotic creation. TankBot moves on treads, and is equipped with an infrared sensor for detecting objects.
All Jimu kits also include a main control box, a lithium ion battery, and an adapter. Parts are also interchangeable with other Jimu sets, so you can create your own designs using parts from other sets.
The free Jimu App provides 3D-illustrated building instructions, pre-programmed actions, Pose-Record-Play and direct-servo programming, Blockly coding to sequence your actions, and an in-app Joystick remote for controlling the robot in real time with a smart device. The app itself also serves as a portal to an online community of Jimu enthusiasts.
Jimu Robots were built to specifically meet the needs of STEM curriculum, and teaches kids computational thinking and problem solving.
All 3 Jimu robot kits will soon be available in major retailers such as Toy Kingdom, Toys R Us, Powermac, SM Appliance, AHHA, Cybertab North EDSA, Astro, Quest and Tekplastore.com, as well as in authrorized UBTECH retailers nationwide.
