Sun Cellular and Opera Mini Partner to Bring Affordable Internet Access to Filipinos

Last September 19, Sun Cellular and Opera announce a partnership that will allow Filipinos to affordably access the internet and visit any website they wish. By using Opera 15, Sun Cellular is able to democratize internet access even to feature-phone users.

In order to bring this service to reality, Sun Cellular launched its latest specialized mobile internet subscription called Browse On. Using the latest browser for smartphones and feature phones, Opera 15, the new service lets subscribers enjoy unlimited mobile internet browsing for just PhP15 per day. Other variants may be availed range from 7 days, 15 days and 30 days!

This new service will definitely boost the internet usage penetration number in the Philippines. Currently, there are over 35 million internet users in the Philippines with a year-on-year growth of 22%. Also, it’s good to note that since this service may also be used by data capable non-smartphones, it will definitely open more Filipinos to use more data over network rather than using WiFi.

To begin using Sun Cellular Opera Mini browser, users may log-on to to download the software to their smartphones. To avail the Browse On: Opera 15 subscription, they will just have to send the keyword Opera15 to 247. This may be availed for seven (7) days via Opera 80, fifteen (15) days via Opera 160 and thirty (30) days through the Opera 299.
