NVIDIA’s DLSS 4.5 rollout reaches two of the biggest names on PC this week. The Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS update arrives on October 22, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches worldwide on October 23 with the full DLSS 4.5 stack and a driver feature that skips shader compilation before the first match.

Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS Update Adds Dynamic Multi Frame Generation

CD PROJEKT RED’s 2.5 patch upgrades the game’s entire DLSS suite to DLSS 4.5 and adds Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, while Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution move onto NVIDIA’s second generation AI models. Dynamic Multi Frame Generation varies its multiplier between 2X and 6X according to how far the current frame rate sits from the target, so a player pushing for 360 fps can hold 6X at 60 fps native and drop to 4X at 90 fps. Support arrives on GeForce RTX and RTX Spark devices, and the game no longer needs an NVIDIA app override to use the newest models.

The patch is not only about graphics. CD PROJEKT RED also added dual-wielding for pistols and revolvers, cross-platform mod support and a new Edgerunners story quest.

Modern Warfare 4 Launches With Advanced Shader Delivery

Campaign Early Access for Modern Warfare 4 opened on October 16, DMZ Early Access followed on October 20, and the full launch on October 23 adds multiplayer. DLSS Super Resolution runs in every mode, Frame Generation covers GeForce RTX 40 Series systems, and GeForce RTX 50 Series owners can enable Dynamic Multi Frame Generation at up to 6X multiplication. Reflex stays available across the RTX line to cut PC latency. The game is out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Battle.net, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.

The new GeForce Game Ready Driver, version 621.01, brings Microsoft’s Advanced Shader Delivery to Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day. The driver downloads shaders already compiled for a player’s card and driver, which removes the compiling shaders screen at launch and cuts the mid-match stutter that comes from shaders building on the fly. It needs a GeForce RTX card, the Xbox PC app for the shader package, and Windows 11 24H2 or later. We covered the campaign window and the earlier driver in our October 7 story.

Phantom Blade Zero and Crimson Desert Close Out October

Phantom Blade Zero launches on October 28 for GeForce RTX and RTX Spark devices, with DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and path-traced lighting refined by DLSS Ray Reconstruction. Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown follows on October 29 with the same DLSS 4.5 set. Planet Zoo 2 is already out, and a post-launch update added DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, leaving room for the zoo builder’s ray-traced reflections, shadows and global illumination.

THE FINALS PRIME TIME, the shooter’s biggest annual update, is live with RTXGI on RTX hardware and DLSS 4.5 available through the NVIDIA app. NVIDIA also showed a first look at Left 4 Dead RTX, a Remix project from NoMercyStudios that runs on RTX Neural Radiance Cache, DLSS Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation. The driver is a free download from the NVIDIA driver page or the NVIDIA app. We tracked the previous DLSS 4.5 wave in our September roundup.
