Apple is moving quickly to ensure a seamless user experience for its foldable device. With pre-orders starting October 16 and deliveries kicking off October 23, the brand is now officially inviting developers to submit iPhone Duo-compatible applications to the App Store.
Apple iPhone Duo Compatible Apps on Launch Day?
To support this transition, Apple has published dedicated guidelines for optimizing software for the new device. Developers must build or recompile their applications using the recently released Xcode 27.1. Once submitted via App Store Connect, these updated apps will earn a specialized App Store badge, clearly signaling to users that they are fully optimized for the iPhone Duo.

Furthermore, the company is introducing a new App Store mandate to standardize the user experience. Starting in April 2027, all new app submissions will be required to include a screenshot demonstrating their interface specifically on an iPhone Duo.
How Will Apple Help?
To help creators adapt to the new hardware, the company is also hosting in-person iPhone Duo workshops. Developers can sign up for these sessions to receive hands-on guidance and the technical resources needed to maximize their software’s potential.
With these measures in place, Apple aims to guarantee a robust, fully optimized software ecosystem the moment the iPhone Duo reaches consumers’ hands.
