Jagex has opened the eastern half of Havenhythe, with RuneScape Havenhythe Part II now live for members on PC and mobile. The studio calls it the largest area expansion in the MMORPG’s 25-year history, and it arrives with a new quest chapter, new skilling grounds and a fresh batch of rewards.
Members who crossed the bridge to Amberfell in June can now push further east. The update adds the werewolf villages of Berylbrook and Heathervein, the Moonsylvar Wood, the mist-shrouded bog of Fenmoor, and the ruined vampyre city of Shuruk-Ba, which sits under the stone gaze of an enormous colossus.
What RuneScape Havenhythe Part II Adds
The centrepiece quest is Heralds of Crimson, the finale of the Havenhythe-set chapter of the Sanguine storyline. Inanna’s visions warn of an invasion by the Ghrazi Blood Knights, a vampyre house that stands taller than Lord Drakan himself. Jagex says players should finish Heralds of Crimson before October 12 to be ready for the Knights, who arrive as a new end-game boss for solo or duo teams.
Fenmoor carries much of the new skilling. The bogolins, swamp-dwelling cousins of goblins, fish for claret crabs and chop petrified trees, fenn ivy and chima moss, and players can join them through new mid-to-high level Woodcutting content. Getting on good terms with their leader, Waterface, can also open a couple of new farming patches.
Skill Requirements and Rewards
Reaching the new content is not a walk in the park. Members need 51 Crafting, 55 Herblore, 65 Mining and 60 Smithing, on top of completing the Secrets of Amberfell quest to unlock the finale. The new mining activity asks for 65 Mining and 51 Crafting.
The headline reward is an ultra-rare, best-in-slot hatchet. Players also gather Bogolin Pearls to spend on local upgrades, Chima Moss Spools for stackable bowstring, and a Bogolin Knife and Torch, plus new sources of standard rune essence. Deeper in Shuruk-Ba, a quiet canyon called Divine Fall hides the memories of Havenhythe’s fallen colossi, which players can piece together over time.
“Havenhythe’s arrival on Gielinor earlier this year opened a new region for players of all levels to explore, while offering the first glimpse of a new threat: the Sanguine,” said Bradley Hickey, Lead Game Designer for RuneScape. “Today’s update raises the stakes for veteran adventurers, introducing brand new skilling content, new training methods, powerful rewards and dangerous new beasts to slay, before bringing this chapter of the Havenhythe’s storyline to a dramatic close.”
How to Play and What Comes Next
RuneScape is free to play on PC and Steam, and on iOS and Android, with cross-platform progression, while Havenhythe Part II is members-only content. Fans of the wider series can also try RuneScape: Dragonwilds, which launched on PC and consoles in September after 18 months in Steam Early Access.
October looks busy for Jagex. RuneFest runs October 3 and 4, and the Ghrazi Blood Knights, the end-game boss teased for after this storyline wraps, do not have a firm date yet.
