The Acer Vero 16 has officially made its debut as a premium laptop that pairs environmentally conscious materials with strong repair options and modern computing power. The new machine is offered in two variants, the V16-I71 and V16-I71T, and represents the fourth generation of the company’s Vero line of sustainability-focused consumer notebooks.
James Lin, General Manager of Notebooks at Acer Inc., said sustainability should be part of a product’s entire lifecycle, from the materials used to the packaging it ships in. He added that the Acer Vero 16 reflects that philosophy through its material sourcing and repair-oriented design, while still offering the AI-enabled performance people expect from a modern computer.
Materials and Repair-Focused Design

The Acer Vero 16’s chassis is built around a MIL-STD-810H certified frame that combines recycled content with low-carbon aluminum. The top cover and palm rest are made from a mix of 50% post-industrial recycled aluminum and 50% low-carbon aluminum, half of which is produced using hydropower. The bottom cover uses 60% post-consumer recycled plastic, and the display bezels contain 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. The side I/O covers are made from 75% post-industrial recycled aluminum.
With this release, Acer is expanding its design philosophy from the traditional “3R” approach of reduce, reuse, and recycle to a “4R” model that adds repairability. The Vero 16 even has a visual guide engraved on the device itself to help users complete repairs and upgrades.
The tool-free access latch on the bottom cover allows entry to internal components, and both the battery and SSD can be replaced by the user. The hinge is detachable from the chassis to simplify servicing, and removable I/O port covers on both sides make repairs easier still. The laptop is also designed to support processor upgrades for at least two future generations, extending its usable life beyond the original configuration.
The Acer Vero 16’s chassis finish uses a solvent-free, powder-coated process that lowers volatile organic compound emissions while offering better wear resistance than traditional paint. As with the prior Vero generation, the laptop ships in fully recyclable packaging made from recycled materials.
Performance, Display, and Everyday Features

The Acer Vero 16 can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 processor 388H, capable of up to 180 platform TOPS, supported by an energy-efficient hybrid architecture and a 71Wh battery.
