LG AI TV Experience IFA 2026

LG Electronics is presenting its 2026 lineup of AI-powered televisions at IFA 2026 in Berlin, Germany, from September 4 to 8. With the award-winning α11 AI Processor Gen3, the new TVs combine enhanced picture and sound quality with personalized recommendations, user-focused tools, and multi-layered security.

AI Processing for Better Picture and Sound

The α11 AI Processor Gen3 serves as the centerpiece of LG’s 2026 AI TV lineup. LG describes it as its most powerful AI TV engine, with faster video processing and improvements to CPU and GPU performance. Its neural processing unit delivers a 5.6-fold improvement compared with the 2025 α9 AI Processor Gen8.

The processor enables AI Dual 4K Upscaling, which combines two artificial intelligence methods to convert lower-resolution content into sharper and clearer 4K images. It also powers AI Sound Pro, which creates cinematic Virtual 11.1.2-channel audio.

Originally introduced with this year’s LG OLED evo series, the processor’s picture-enhancement capabilities are now also being applied to LG’s ultra-large Micro RGB evo TVs.

The α11 AI Processor Gen3 received recognition from Tom’s Guide at its AI Awards 2026, praising it for addressing practical problems instead of focusing solely on artificial intelligence hype. It specifically highlighted the processor’s ability to reduce color banding and produce more natural-looking scenes.

Personalized Features for Everyday Viewing

LG’s 2026 AI TVs are designed to function as personalized entertainment platforms rather than simply display devices. The televisions can recognize individual users, understand context, and proactively recommend apps, shows, settings, and other content.

Voice ID recognizes a user’s voice and switches to the appropriate personal profile. This allows the TV to provide content recommendations based on that person’s viewing history and preferences. Users can ask for movie suggestions and receive recommendations matched to their tastes.

The AI Chatbot is designed to understand plain-language descriptions of viewing problems. For example, when a user says that the screen is too dark, the feature identifies the relevant setting issue and guides the user through the fix.

AI Concierge analyzes viewing habits and history to suggest content, search terms, and relevant features on webOS 26. Users can access it by pressing the AI button on the remote. Suggested information appears in a card format, allowing viewers to explore recommendations without leaving what they are watching.

LG Shield Protects User Data

LG Shield provides security for the AI TV experience via an integrated webOS protection system. The technology uses seven core security measures: secure algorithms, secure data storage, secure data transmission, user authentication, software integrity assurance, secure updates, and security event detection.

This multi-layered approach is intended to protect TV systems and user information from data leakage, unauthorized access, and malicious tampering. LG Shield was also recognized as a CES 2026 Innovation Awards honoree in the Cybersecurity category.

LG’s AI TVs will receive up to five years of complimentary webOS upgrades, supporting continued access to new and improved features after purchase. Visitors can experience the lineup at LG’s booth in Hall 18 at Messe Berlin during IFA 2026.
