But the overall experience matters more for Ultrabooks; hence our 30-day challenge with the device, where in 30 days, the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra has been my primary work laptop, replacing both my desktop and previous ultrabook for everything from writing articles and editing photos to attending meetings and managing dozens of Chrome tabs.
It’s easy to dismiss “Flagship of the Industry” as another marketing phrase, but spending a full month with the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra allows us to immerse ourselves in what it’s like. Rather than relying on benchmark numbers alone, this experience highlighted how its battery life, performance, build quality, and display come together to improve everyday productivity and overall quality of life.
Performance Without Drawbacks
Thin-and-light laptops have traditionally forced users to choose between portability and performance, but the ExpertBook Ultra doesn’t even feel like it has that compromise thanks to up to Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 CPU. Our specific ASUS ExpertBook Ultra variant uses the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor, which is more than enough for any C-suite executive. Paired with up to 64GB of LPDDR5X memory running at 9600MT/s, the ExpertBook Ultra can easily run any application you need for work.
With its dynamic memory management via the ExpertPanel Software, you can allocate memory to the Intel Arc B390 iGPU for AI inferencing so that you can load up your own AI models locally without relying on an internet connection or any subscription —that’s cost written off once you own an ExpertBook Ultra. The ExpertBook Ultra is also a certified Copilot+ PC, with a built-in 50 TOPS NPU for advanced AI for work processing and AI features such as live video captions, Windows Studio Effects, and Click to Do for daily AI for business productivity.
My personal time with the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra involved at least 40 Chrome tabs cycling through various webpages, editing high-resolution photos using Adobe Lightroom, editing videos with CapCut for vertical and Adobe Premiere for long-format videos, and your typical MS Office suite and Teams meeting. At one point, every app mentioned was open simultaneously, and there were no lag spikes whatsoever. What’s even more impressive is that the laptop was not plugged in, meaning I still get the CPU performance without relying on its charger to deliver its 25-80W Turbo Power.

This allows sustained, consistent performance without becoming distractingly hot or excessively loud, allowing sustained workloads without sacrificing comfort.
Outstanding All-Day Battery Life
Battery life is often the deciding factor for professionals who spend most of their day away from a power outlet. It’s an Ultrabook’s known advantage compared to all other types of laptops, and the ExpertBook Ultra consistently exceeded expectations. Its 2S2P 70wHr battery is already an above-average spec for an Ultrabook, but it’s also not the largest one we’ve seen. That said, pair that with up to the Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 CPU, and its efficiency is on another level
Throughout the month, it comfortably handled a full workday that included web browsing, multiple MS Office applications, video calls, Lightroom, and CapCut without making me think about where the nearest charger was. It gives me the confidence to start the day even with my laptop only charged to 60% and in some bold cases, only about 30% left, as long as I knew what my workload was throughout the day. It also allowed me to carry lighter, as I don’t even have to bring both my Type-C GaN charger and my laptop powerbank—and when going out with friends or for a light work day, I just grab my smallest bag that could fit the 14-inch ExpertBook Ultra and go about my day.

The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra has spoiled me in so many aspects that have elevated my standards in what I want with an Ultrabook laptop – and that’s no other than the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra.
Our usual two-week loan period with products, whether they be for campaigns or reviews, easily covers the visible nuances of these devices and their performance. But a little longer and we see more about its overall, rounded experience and durability of the device. This also allows the honeymoon phase to wear off and that’s what makes us more impressed with the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra over time. Each major aspect of the device complements one another with little to no compromise, from battery life and performance to durability and display.
