Senate Makes Impeachment Trial Resources Available Online

The Senate has made all documents and filings related to the ongoing impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte accessible to the public via its website. Senate President Win Gatchalian said the move is meant to strengthen transparency and allow citizens to follow the proceedings more closely.

Gatchalian said the public should be able to see the evidence and documents for themselves rather than relying only on social media posts. He highlighted that open access to the records also helps protect the Senate’s institutional integrity and gives Filipinos a direct way to examine the case.

Public Scrutiny

Gatchalian also invited people to review the proceedings on their own and understand the material that’s presented during the trial. He noted that while senator-judges will preside over the impeachment process, the Filipino people remain the ultimate judges of the proceeding.

To support the effort, Gatchalian has also instructed the Senate Secretariat to provide the needed resources for uploading documents and filings quickly as they are introduced during the trial. The goal is to keep the digital repository updated and easy to access.

Access to the records is available through the Senate’s official website by navigating to the Impeachment tab. From there, you’ll be able to browse through and download the resources, including documents and videos.
