Qualcomm has officially launched the Snapdragon Reality Elite, its new flagship processor designed to revolutionize standalone extended reality (XR) headsets and smart glasses. It is the direct successor to the XR2 Plus Gen 2.

The new processor boasts a 30% increase in CPU speed, a 60% leap in graphics rendering, and a staggering 160% jump in NPU performance, capable of 48 TOPS for localized AI tasks. It features a 4+2 Kryo CPU layout maxing out at 2.9GHz, alongside an Adreno GPU and 12MB of memory.

Moreover, the system supports 4.4K resolution per eye at a smooth 90 frames per second. Furthermore, the chip promises to run 12 degrees cooler and consume 20% less energy, paving the way for lighter, more comfortable wearable devices.

The XREAL Aura, launching later this year, will be the first commercial product to utilize the Snapdragon Reality Elite, followed by an upcoming flagship headset from Play for Dream.
